ABOUT ART THERAPY

Creative arts therapy is a form of expressive therapy that uses creative processes such as art making, movement, sculpture, photography and music to improve a person’s physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Through the use of creative processes, nonverbal symbols and metaphors we can often express and reveal what words cannot.

The process involved in expressing one’s creativity can benefit people to resolve issues as well as develop and manage their behaviours and feelings, reduce stress, improve self-esteem and awareness and discover the value of expressing what we hold in our bodies.

JANE GRONOW

I’m Jane Gronow a registered Professional Creative Arts Therapist based in Melbourne. My life experience has been wide and varied including teaching, counselling and working overseas for many years in the development and humanitarian sectors. I have always been able to use my own creative expression as a means to help me cope with some of life’s most challenging and important moments.

Combining this life experience and more formal study over recent years I can offer the opportunity to work along side you in an authentic, supportive and engaged manner to explore and inquire into your challenges and needs. I also work with Charlie our therapy dog (in training) who can be a part of our sessions if you want.

I hold professional registration with the Australian, New Zealand and Asian Creative Arts Therapy Association (ANZACATA) and I am an Associate member of the Australian Psychological Association.

I am unable to provide a Medicare rebate for my sessions.
